Frequently Asked Questions

Many of your questions will be answered here. If you can not find the answer, feel free to email us by filling out the Contact Form

Q1: What is an oil painting reproduction?

A: Reproduction art is copying the original painting as it was created by the artist and duplicating it. Our artists painstakingly reproduce brush strokes and, as close as possible, pay attention to every detail of the original. The paint colors are matched as close as possible, using a quality canvas to apply the results. All our reproductions are hand painted by fine artists who pride their work and strive for perfection.

Q2: Is there a likeness to the original when completed?

A: There is a likeness to the original. It looks so alike that many untrained eyes cannot tell and have difficulty seeing that it isn't the real art piece.

Q3: How do I see the paintings you offer?

A: Using the slider bar to the right of the page you can select a painting by clicking on the picture. You may select a painting using the alphabet selector above the pictures. This will bring up the paintings by first name. You can also search for the name of the painting or the name of the Artist. In any case, you can select all the paintings by an individual Artist by selecting the artist in the search mode.

Q4: Can I see the detail of a painting?

A: Yes. When you have selected the painting of interest, you need to click on the framed picture and this will enlarge the painting for you. If you still need further detail, use the cursor and pass it over the painting as this will magnify the picture further for your study.

Q5: How much will my painting selection cost?

A: The price is determined by the size and the quality of the painting. For example, if you want a museum quality painting, you need to specify this in the quote page and select the size of the painting. If you wish to buy the original size of the painting, you may select "original size" and we will quote the price within 24 hours, if not immediately.

Q6: How do I know what size to select?

A: We have provided the sizes we recommend for this selection on the quote page. The size is determined by the professional artist so as not to distort the painting. If your choice is not within the guidelines of the artist, we will contact you by email and advise you of any changes you should make. You will need to approve the change in writing.

Q7: How long does it take to receive the painting?

A: That depends on the quailty and size you select. In certain cases it depends on where the painting will originate from. We do order your painting from sources around the world. If you select Museum quality 30" x 36", as an example, it could take up to 8 weeks to receive it to your door. Standard quality, up to 6 weeks to deliver and for bulk quality, 10 days.

Q8: How is my order shipped to me?

A: We have several methods of shipping to you within the United States. International orders will be price quoted at the time you request a quote. We use UPS, USPS standard, USPS overnight delivery, FEDEX, DHL. We will notify you when we ship the painting so you know when to expect the delivery. If you request overnight delivery, there will be an extra charge for this type of shipping and it will be invoiced at time of payment. All shipping charges are paid by the customer.

Q9: Are the paintings insured against loss of delivery?

A: Yes. We pay for insurance and the customer needs to sign for the delivery. There is no charge to the customer for insurance.

Q10: Do you have a warranty?

A: Yes. Please visit our policy and guarantee section for details.

Q11: What if I don't like the painting when it arrives?

A: It is very unusual for our clients to dislike our product. However, should you decide the painting is incorrect and not the one you ordered or if it does not resemble the original, you must take the following measures. You must notify us immediately upon receipt of the painting, within (72) hours and tell us what is wrong with the painting. We will then issue you a return number and instructions on how to return the painting to us. You will ship it back to us at your expense. After reviewing the painting, we will issue the refund to you. Shipping charges will not be refunded.

Q12: What if I change my mind and send it back to you?

A: You will need to follow the return policy. Then, if you return the painting because you've changed your mind or you claim it isn't a good quality, we reserve the right to examine the painting and if we feel it is of good quality, we will refund your money, less shipping charges and we will charge you a 20% restocking and handling fee.

Q13: Do you frame and stretch the paintings?

A: No! We will only ship the painting to you in a rolled up position and in a tube. Most arts & crafts stores will stretch the canvas for you and you may select them to frame it as well.

Q14: Will the painting have the words "A Perfect painting.com" as pictured in the viewer?

A: No! We have tagged our pictures so as others may not copy them and you can identify the website.

Q15: Can I keep a copy of the painting when I order?

A: Yes! The thumbnail (or small picture) may be copied for your records. When your order is placed and paid for, we can send you a larger size of your painting via email if requested.

Q16: What is a Giclee?

A: Giclées ~ a fine art reproduction that provides better color accuracy than other means of printing. Giclées offer the look of an original at a considerably lower price. The artists use a spray inkjet and a trace of the picture onto the canvas and together they produce a very nice quality.
